so was the wine festival at the town hall square in forchheim

"O cosmos greeks say to a place where something is going on, where you want to be to see and be seen. It may be due to the almost tropical temperatures that mediterranean images mix so easily with those of half-timbered facades at the wine festival of the forchheim-buckenhofen music society on the town hall square.

A piece far also the clothing of the visitors contributes to it. Even heiner kredel, tireless promoter of the music society, has left the professional dress code far behind: knee-length light trousers, a linen shirt and a straw hat. "I’m not a "traditional franconian", he says almost as an apology, although his style of dress exactly matches the atmosphere in forchheim’s "good parlor reflects.

On the trimburg there will be jazzt again

On the trimburg there will be jazzt again

A tradition continues: on sunday, 24. June, jazz will once again be played at the trimburg during the 2018 jazz festival. Already in the morning, at the traditional weibwurstfruhstucks time, starting at 11 a.M., jazzers and jazz friends will meet, some of whom have known each other since the end of the 1950s, who have played in various dixieland and swing bands from the areas of wurzburg, aschaffenburg, schweinfurt, bad neustadt and bad kissingen. They will play jazz "for all it’s worth" and "talk about old and new times".
But this music is much more fun when the audience "plays along". Therefore, not only the families and friends of the musicians are invited, but everyone who likes jazz, enjoys listening to happy music and wants to experience a carefree day in the beautiful surroundings of the trim castle.
The "golden brass bigband" will start the concert, the "flying-jazz musicians from bad kissingen will be there again, jazz singer silvia volker from fulda will come by like last year, and later the whole thing will turn into a "jam session" the line-up will change, whoever feels like making music will join in", and surely there will be some young jazz musicians again. How and for how long music is played in the afternoon is determined by whim and fancy. All musicians play for free and are happy to come to the festival to jazzy and in the atmospheric atmosphere of the trimburg to exchange experiences and memories. Admission is free, catering is provided by the parish council of elfershausen, incoming donations are again this year for the associations "friends of trimburg" and "musifit trimburg determined.

Geisfeld in a celebratory mood

Geisfeld in a celebratory mood

It was the last day of midsummer, with a brilliant blue sky and high temperatures, when the people of geisfeld collected their church consecration tree from the entrance to the village, accompanied by the marching music of the geisfeld musicians, and set it up in the square opposite the church. Under the expert direction of wolfgang linsner, the mannerists skilfully hoisted the 28 meter long spruce from the mosten part of the forest into the air and received powerful applause from the many spectators for their work.

Then everyone moved to the old dorfstrabe, where the cultural village community of geisfeld (KDG) under its chairwoman nicole dusel and the DJK sports club under its chairwoman doris pflaum organized the kirchweih with tents, booths, in garages and outdoors. Since both geisfeld economies were not available, the villagers, under the direction of their two leaders, went to the matter themselves, love the differences because of the bypass road not even suggestive come up, proclaimed as at the olympic games in ancient greece truce and had success with it.

Reunion of two music clubs

Reunion of two music clubs

The music society and the obermaintaler youth band have common roots, which go back to a brass band founded in 1873. It may have been personal sensitivities that led to the breakup more than 40 years ago. Since 1971, there have been two independent wind music associations in ebensfeld.
But this should soon belong to the past. On friday, 29. June, the members are in demand: if 75 percent of the members present at the merger meeting decide in favor of a merger, there will only be one music association in ebensfeld in the future, the "musikvereinigung ebensfeld e". V."
Now, so close to the goal, the chairmen of both associations are optimistic. Why it came to the split at that time, nobody knows exactly anymore. "When we became big, there were already no more contact points", the chairman of the music association, rudolf dierauf, recalls during a press interview. "Both clubs rehearsed at the school on friday night, but separately in different rooms", adds otto weidner, press officer of the obermaintal youth band.
Now what has been separated for more than four decades is to come together. In seven committee meetings, the "reunification" was completed on the way. The structure of the board and the duration of the election period were also discussed, and a completely new constitution was drawn up in accordance with the current legal regulations.
The advantages of a merger are obvious, not only from a musical point of view. It also makes sense from a financial and organizational point of view to use synergy effects. There are also advantages in the area of youth work, because there are no longer enough young people for two independent brass bands due to the demographic development.

Musical treat in mitwitz

Musical treat in mitwitz

The visitors of an extraordinary concert on the second sunday of advent in the jakobskirche of the evangelische kirchengemeinde mitwitz experienced a musical treat. It was performed by the ensemble of" sax& keyb consort" from thuringia’s neighboring community neuhaus-schierschnitz under the leadership of jens roser. He played the baritone saxophone, sabine roschlau-mai on the piano and the flute, with the alto saxophone were evelyn roser, martin roser and with the tenor saxophone anja walter to be heard. And the young schoolgirl anabel knauer also enriched the one-hour program with her alto saxophone.

In 2001, five music enthusiasts got together as a saxophone quartet with piano to make music in their free time. Since then, the focus of their performances has been on concerts in churches and concert halls, and their current advent concert was their fourth appearance in mitwitz. The timbre of their programs, including the one in mitwitz, was further enhanced by the singer juliane rob, who also led through the program. This was opened musically with "macht hoch die tur" (raise the tur) and concluded with the folk song "at the christmas tree. Juliane rob began by telling of christmas customs in other countries that were musically visited at this concert. For example with the swedish song" jul, jul, stralande jul", the finnish melody "sylvian joululaulu, "in the bleak midwinter" from great britain "have yourself a merry little christmas from the USA "de tierrra lejana venimos" from puerto rico as well as "cantique de noel" from france.
